Take Back Our Mountains non-profitVisitor safety patrols
Volunteers patrolling high-risk areas of the mountain, as the eyes and ears on the ground.

Table Mountain National Park is open to everyone, which is part of what makes it special. But social and economic hardship means crime does happen in the beautiful Cape. To tackle it, Take Back Our Mountains volunteers patrol high-risk areas, work closely with neighbourhood watches and pass useful information to the authorities.
In April 2020 we set up two WhatsApp groups that bring the key role players together, so incidents get a quick response. With over 1,800 members, they are the eyes and ears on the ground, reporting suspicious activity, safety concerns and environmental hazards straight to the right people.
