Terms and conditions
These terms are between Take Back Our Mountains Tourism (Pty) Ltd (TBOM Tourism, reg. 2024/017152/07) and the person or organisation booking a tour, hike or transfer. By booking with us, you agree to them.
1. Booking and payment
All bookings must be made in advance. A deposit may be required when you book, with full payment due 48 hours before the tour starts. If payment is not made in full by then, the booking may be cancelled.
2. Itinerary
TBOM Tourism may change the itinerary, route or timing of a tour when needed because of weather, safety or other conditions beyond our control.
3. Cancellations and refunds
Bookings made within 30 days of the tour date are paid in full when you book. For bookings more than 30 days ahead, a 15% non-refundable deposit secures your date, with the balance due 48 hours before the tour. Cancelling 14 to 21 days before the tour costs 25%; 13 days to 24 hours before costs 40%; within 24 hours you may lose the full amount. If we cancel the tour, or it is cancelled because of the weather, you get a full refund.
4. Taking part
You must be able to take part fully, including walking and other physical activity, unless special arrangements are made in advance. We may refuse participation to anyone we believe cannot safely complete the tour.
5. Health and safety
Please tell us about any medical conditions or dietary needs when you book. TBOM Tourism is not responsible for injury or illness during a tour caused by a pre-existing condition.
6. Travel insurance
We strongly recommend travel insurance covering cancellations, medical emergencies and lost luggage. TBOM Tourism is insured by SATIB and carries public liability insurance.
7. Guides and conduct
Our guides are responsible for the safety and enjoyment of everyone on the tour, and you agree to follow their instructions. Disruptive or unsafe behaviour may mean removal from the tour without a refund.
8. Liability
TBOM Tourism is not responsible for loss, damage, injury or death during a tour. We put your safety first and carry public liability insurance for peace of mind.
9. Vehicles
All vehicles carry the relevant insurance and permits. Please wear your seatbelt and keep belongings out of sight. Costs are per vehicle per service. If a vehicle is unavailable we may hire the same or a similar vehicle from another supplier. No smoking or alcohol in the vehicle, and no feet on the seats or dashboard. You are responsible for damage caused by a passenger’s negligence. Luggage and belongings are carried at your own risk.
10. Drivers
All drivers hold professional driving permits, drive you safely and do not use their phones while driving.
11. Trailers
Trailers can be requested, subject to availability, and may cost extra.
