Guided hike above GlencairnElsie’s Peak
Elsie’s Peak is a short but rewarding hike above Glencairn, with sweeping views over False Bay, Fish Hoek and the coastline around them.
The trail starts from a residential area and climbs steadily along a well-worn path with some rocky sections near the top. It is 2 to 3 km return and usually takes 1 to 2 hours, a great choice for beginners or anyone wanting a quick outing. It is easy to moderate, though the incline will still get your heart rate up.
Local stories say the peak is named after Elsie, a young woman who lived in the area in the early 1900s and walked up the mountain regularly. Today it is a favourite among locals for its peaceful atmosphere, coastal scenery and a quieter alternative to the bigger Table Mountain hikes.

All rates include your guide, entry and ticket fees, and transport. Pick-ups 35 to 60 km from your hotel cost an extra R1 000. All rates are per person.

How does the price work?
The price is per person and drops as your group gets bigger: R3 500 for one person, down to R1 700 each for a group of 8.
What is included?

Is it a private hike?
Yes. It is just your group, with a hike leader and a sweeper, walking at the pace of the slowest person.
Do I pay a deposit?
For bookings more than 30 days ahead, a 15% non-refundable deposit secures your date, with the balance due 48 hours before. Bookings within 30 days are paid in full when you book.
What if the weather turns?
Safety comes first, so we may change the route or timing. If we cancel because of the weather, you get a full refund.
